Jess Grant Celebration
This is for everyone who has ever supported Jess Grant Celebration over the last 8 years of fundraising.
Firstly, a huge thank you. Since the charity was first incorporated in August 2018, we feel that Jess Grant Celebration has achieved a tremendous amount, succeeding in raising over £80,000 for music therapy. This is an incredible achievement enabled by the numerous challenges, events, donations, help behind the scenes and raising awareness, from you, the charity’s supporters.
This money has been used to initiate and establish music therapy at Ipswich Hospital Children’s Ward, to provide funding for Zest Music Days at St. Elizabeth Hospice, and more recently to fund music therapy for teenagers and young adults at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. From earlier posts, you will be aware of the enormous impact and extremely positive feedback we have received as a result of funding music therapy at these centres.
It has been an extremely emotional and difficult decision to make, but Kevin and I, with the support of our wonderful trustees, have decided that this will be the last year that Jess Grant Celebration is active as a charity. This way, we can ensure that the charity goes out on a high and never fades away.
To this end, we have just allocated funding to continue to support Ipswich and Zest for another year and to extend our support for Addenbrooke’s. In due course, we look forward to hearing that the legacy of music therapy created in Jess’ memory will continue for many years to come.
On behalf of the Trustees of Jess Grant Celebration, a heartfelt thank you.
Anita and Kevin x
